“Enrolling in the way of the weekends du piano started in 2010, the Würth Museum celebrates in 2016 the first edition of Piano au Musée Würth which is now recognized by the scale of its wonderful and varied programming as the only international piano Festival in Alsace, offering an incomparable radiance to this beautiful area and the city of Erstein, closed both Strasbourg and Germany ! It will take place from October 28th to November 6th, 2016. The mission of this exceptional event is to celebrate the King piano in all forms, on two long weekends with recitals by renowned international soloists such as Michel Dalberto, Luis Fernando Pérez and Philippe Cassard, chamber music concerts and masterclasses. Some young talents at the starting of a bright future will be also present including Nicolas Giacomelli who won in 2016 the 'Campus d’ Or' of the Piano Campus International Competition. The desire of transmission is an essential objective and Masterclasses will give the opportunity to young pianists still in training to develop and perform with audience. The eclectic repertoire honored with the great masterpieces of the piano repertoire of Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Ravel, Prokofiev, Granados and Albéniz, as well as famous opera arias (with the soprano Amélie Robins accompanied by Virginie Martineau on piano which will replace a large orchestra), and original works rarely given in concert. French music and the great romantic repertoire will also hold a prominent place. The Auditorium and the beautiful Steinway D of the Würth Museum increase a new public, large and renewed. I warmly acknowledge Marie-France Bertrand, Director of the Museum to trust me as the new Artistic Director, our partners, and all guests’ artists participating of the prestige and success of Piano au Musée Würth".
